Five parks are within a fifteen minute drive of Timberwood. One of them is inside the neighborhood, three more belong to the City of Humble, and the largest is a Harris County nature preserve on Spring Creek.

Hours

Every City of Humble park opens at 8:00 AM and closes at dark, except Hirsch, which opens at 7:00 AM.2 Jesse H. Jones opens at 7:00 AM and closes at dusk.3

Who to call

City park maintenance, broken equipment, mowing and lighting all go to City of Humble Public Works at 281-446-2327, which lists parks among its responsibilities.4 Jesse H. Jones is a county park and it has its own number at (281) 446-8588.3

The city gives one park director for all four of its parks, Jeremy Mittag, at that same Public Works number.5

How the drive figures were measured

Each distance is measured by road from the middle of the neighborhood to the park address, over OpenStreetMap data.1 The starting point is the average position of the 1,014 Timberwood lots this site already holds coordinates for, which puts it roughly where Charpiot meets the interior streets. Treat them as a guide to how far away something is, not as directions.

What the city says about all four together

The city describes its parks as "equipped with trails, playgrounds, pavilions, native trees and flowers, picnic tables, and more", without saying which park has which.2 The four pages linked above are more specific, and this site reads them one at a time.

Still open

  • Whether any of these can be reserved for a party, other than the Schott pavilion
  • Which youth sports leagues use which park
  • Whether the city runs summer programs at Hirsch beyond the pool
